What’s included

Here at Workshop Software we are always improving the product and streamlining our processes. We always want to continue to offer you greater value, and further streamline your mechanical workshop. We’ve been getting some feedback over the past while and we attempt to implement the best ideas and improvements suggested by our users.

This update includes a cool new text formatting feature when adding notes to an invoice. you’re now able to format the text, make headings, bullets, bold, alignment etc. This will help you to provide better looking invoices for your customers, and make you look even more professional.

We also had a small glitch in the system which made typing appear slow in some instances. The system was a little too excited to find what you were looking for, that it was firing off some processes a little too eagerly. We’ve improved this along with making the searching just as fast (if not faster).

We’ve been asked for better Xero integration and more options, and we’ve delivered on this. We’ve fixed some issues with syncing, and we’ve added some options to better break down your transactions in Xero and added an extra option for Tax Types which were causing some issues depending on how you had your Xero system configured.

What’s coming next

We have some REALLY cool things in the pipeline. One in particular will be rolled out to some test sites in the next week or so and is a major change to how Automotive Mechanical Workshops will do business in Australia and New Zealand. We are looking to roll this feature out to the general user base early January, stay tuned for details.

Super cool update on how you communicate with clients.
This update includes automated customer messaging, expanded customer communication options  
and warranty of fitness communication for New Zealand customers.


Booking diary. Simple to use yet super effective booking diary system to help you keep track of your
customers and when they are coming into your workshop. Will also have features to manage mechanics.

First Quarter 2015

Stock Kits. The ability to have a single product and put multiple products that will automatically load onto 
an invoice. The system will allow you to add parts, labour, consumables and sublets into the kit.


Phone App!
Plans are underway to develop a phone app that will allow you to take a photo and attach the photo 
directly onto a job. 
The app will also allow you to very easily clock on and clock off as a mechanic on a job.

(We are pretty excited about this, and wanted to let you know about our plans. Maybe we should have waited
until it was closer to fullfillment, but we want to have full disclosure of our plans, and involve our clients in 
what’s going on).

    Hi Thanks for the update. Have been using workshop software for two months now. Am starting to get use to it and appreciate the great workshop features thanks. Great to see what’s comming too.
    Two things high up our wish list.
    1) since your last update I have been unable to edit invoice notes on the iPad. I have just updated the iPad to the latest iOS 8.1.1 to see if that would help but it did not.
    So I am no longer able to complete jobs to process them while out and about.
    2) we have a lot of engineering jobs that are not against a vehicle, would be good to see the description on these jobs in job centre. Thanks. Nick

    Thanks for the note, glad you’re appreciating all the great features of Workshop Software.

    In relation to the iPad, can you let us know specifically what you cannot do. We’ve not changed anything in relation to the iPad, and we’re very conscious of the fact that it’s a mobile style system so we have worked hard to make it work exceptionally well on all sorts of devices.

    I’ve just tested editing and processing an invoice on the iPad, and it all worked fine. Can you get in touch with support directly and someone will be able to help you.
